This is another poster in which i wanted to take a look into because of all the cool aspects that is used within the poster.
One thing that i really liked from the poster was its subtle use of high key lighting. The way that it used is so that the audience can recognise the isolated setting of the poster being the forest covered in mist. All of these aspects put together really create a feeling of tension, fear and suspension all of which intrigue the audience into the movie but also may creep them out.
Typography:
The title of the movie is coloured in red which has many connotations and establishes the blood, gore and violence and horror that may occur within the movie all of which then tell the audience that this movie is a horror movie. The very title of the movie also creates a-lot of mystery as they will want to know what 'Friday the 13th" signifies and what it means generating buzz and mystery.
Colours:
The colours used in the poster perfectly represent the colours that are colours that stereotypically used in a horror type movie. The poster is full of dark and gloomy colours to perfectly represent the genre of the movie.
Rule of thirds:
I really like how the main figure on the poster is positioned his body language and his position in the middle of the page signifies his strong presence within the movie and heightens the sensations of fear, dread and anxiety.
Props and iconography:
As seen in the poster the main figure is seen to be holding a weapon which signifies the violence that may occur in the movie. I also really like how the main figure is shown to be masked making a sense of mystery around the character as the audience don't know who is behind the mask or what his motives are.
So again i really like this poster and what it represents. i really liked how the poster blends all the colours and lightings together to really create a harrowing and tense poster that intrigues the audience into watching the movie.
