A walk among the tombstones poster:

The main image is shown to be the main character of the movie. The shot is with the characters back to the camera. This can create an effective tone as stereotypically the main character will look at the camera connecting with them. The main character is holding a gun and a bag this creates a sense of mystery and violence and so the poster gives the audience an insight into the potential plot.

The colour of the poster is very simplistic but very very effective its black and white colours convey mystery and suspense. The setting of the poster is a graveyard which yet again conveys the idea of the film being about mystery and violence.  The pond in the background has also been filtered  to be a bloody red furthering conveying that idea of violence within the movie. The black and white filter used in this particular poster is something that i really liked about this poster and is something that i  may try implementing on my own poster.

The title of the movie is just above the character giving a connection to the movie and the character on the poster.  Its again giving a chilling intense feeling to the poster. The name of the main actor is also given just above the title of the movie. This tells the audience what type of movie it may be as Liam Neeson is known for his roles in action movies. This will tell the audience what to expect and that it won't be an average movie and will potentially be violent and intense movie.
The poster also uses a tagline at the top of the poster. This gives an insight into the stories narrative and gives a tagline for the makers of the film to promote and sell the movie whether they use the tagline on any promotions. One thing i liked about the tagline was that it plays on the audiences emotions that we're scared of the wrong things which means anything can happen and they won't know it but also they don't know what to be scared of.

Furthermore i liked the fact that the setting of the poster was located in a graveyard. Not only does this connect with the title "a walk among the tombstones" it also creates a sense of mystery and creepiness around the plot of the film as graveyards connote death and mystery which may creep the audience out. This type of setting is something that i very much like as it adds another layer of story telling to the poster so from this i may add my own location that is seen in the movie on my own poster.

I really was influenced by this poster and it is defiantly something that i will come back too for inspiration and guidance because i liked the layout of the poster and the colour of the poster.
