Drafting and planning: Taglines

With most movies there is of course the main title that is used to mainly represent and market the movie but with most there is most of the time there is also a tagline. The tagline can be used for a variety of reasons one to help further promote the movie and so can be used for social media marketing.  It can also give a better insight into the movie and its plot. It is very important that i create a suitable tagline that will actually fit with the trailer and perfectly convey what I'm trying to get across so that i do not create something that is cheesy and more importantly does not fit with what I am trying to convey.

The three movies here are particular taglines that i did really like. The first one from "the ring" which says "before you die, you see" i really liked this because its all about mystery and really does create intrigue because it leaves the audience wanting to know and leaves them in the unknown as they want to know what you see. This is really well done tagline. The second tagline for the second poster was also really good as it also has alot of mystery and suspense as it leaves them wanting to know who is coming home and it creates a real creepy feel for the poster and so the film overall.

This movies tagline is also really good because it just really goes with the mysterious creepy movie. "the last man on earth, is not alone". I did like this because its just the pure moment of mystery like what does it mean who else is there.
It intrigues the audience into the movie because they will want to know what is going on and what this all really means.







For my own taglines i do have various ideas and suggestions and i am still in the process of picking the right tagline.  My ideas are as followed:

1. Speak of the devil and the devil and the devil shall appear
2. Hunt or be hunted
3. We have just one simple rule: hunt or be hunted
4. Run
5. The only way out, is in.

To ensure i pick the right one i will do the steps of asking my target audience for their input and ideas so that the tagline that does get picked is the right one and is perfect for my trailer to create the perfect tone and feel.
