I have most defiantly decided that unless something happens i am going to feature a song in my trailer so because of this i have taken my research into looking into potential songs to ensure that i pick the right song that will not only add to the trailers narrative, add to the overall feel of the trailer and also perhaps be able to give an insight into the plot of the trailer.
So because of those reasons i decided to look into this song, the reason i decided to look into this song in particular was its creepy and eerie beat that carries throughout the entirety of the song creating a truly mysterious and impactful tone for the song something i believe would also incorporate really well into my trailer as the song has that impact and powerful feel that would make the trailer intense and pull the audience in and make them want to watch the trailer.
The second aspect as to why i chose to look into this song was its lyrics as they really carry the story and tone that would fit into the genre of my trailer with it being 'horror/thriller'.
The part of the song that i am most interested in using from this song is defiantly going to be from the chorus of the song as i feel that this has the most feel and weight to the song and carries the most intense tone to it that can actually really carry and add to the trailer. The lyrics that i would choose to use from this song is:
"Go an tell that midnight rider
tell the rambler, the gambler the back biter
tell em that Gods gonna cut you down
tell em that Gods gonna cut you down"
I picked this part of the song out because the lyrics just fit perfectly with the tone and feel with the song. Furthermore these lyrics seem to fit in more with the genre of film that I am intending to create. It talks about being 'cut down' with positions perfect into the type of trailer that i am intending to make. The song carries a mysterious tone that quite simply i like and think would fir perfectly into the trailer. The part of the song that i would chose to use from this song is from the minute of 2:25 till 2:40. This time scale of course is 3 seconds over the approved 12 seconds that a song can be featured in the trailer so if i want to use this song there will need to be cutting to get the song to the approved timescale.
One reason why i would chose to use this song is mainly due to its lyrics and its beat that would fit perfectly into a trailer due both to the story that it conveys and so would be a great paralell for my trailer as i believe they would both work in harmonising sync to create the perfect tone for the trailer. However one negative for using this song is that while the beat of the song does work well the actual pace of the lyrics does work rather slow and perhaps for that reason would not actually fit too well and i believe it could make it quite boring.
So before i make the final decision on which song i will feature in my song i think i will defiantly have to have second thoughts on this song to see if it is the right song to be featured.
